Refrigerator Rolls

1 tablespoon salt

3/4 cup sugar

1 cup shortening

1 cup boiling water

3 eggs, well beaten

2 packages dry yeast

8 cups flour

1/2 cup warm water

1 cup cold water

In large mixing bowl (not plastic), add salt, sugar, and shortening.  Add 1 cup boiling water and let dissolve.  Add 3 well beaten eggs and yeast that has now dissolved in 1/2 cup warm water.  Add sifted flour alternating with 1 cup cold water.  Mix well.  Refrigerate over night.

When ready to bake, roll out on well floured board and cut with 1/4” thick.  Brush with melted margarine, fold over and place on greased cookie sheet so that they are almost touching each other.  Let stand at room temperature for 3 hours.  Bake at (400°F) on middle rack until golden brown (about 8 to 10 minutes).  They will keep in the refrigerator for at least a week.
